Strategy Guide: Ecco the Dolphin - Up and Down

Vitalits

  1. Inside one of the rooms in the main chamber.
  2. During your ride up in the geyser.
  3. During your ride up in the geyser.
  4. During your ride up in the geyser.
  5. Floating above the waterfall.

Objectives: Learn Power of Endurance and Power of Stealth.

While your main objective in this level is to learn Power of Endurance and Power of Stealth, you can also access two optional levels. Passage from Genesis and Pathways from Nowhere are a kick back to the original side scrolling Ecco and your only goal is to stock up on Vitalits.

Once you've learned Power of Endurance, push the boulder into the current below the information glyph and follow it down (this tunnel will lead you to Passage from Genesis). Pick up the Sonar power-up and swim back to the main chamber. Use your sonar on the large stone in the middle of the room until it breaks and reveals the geyser. Make sure you pick up both the Endurance and Air power-ups before riding the geyser.

Power of Endurance
The easiest of all powers to obtain, it will be right in front of Ecco at the beginning of this level.

Power of Stealth
To reach this pool you must survive the geyser ride, then leap off the waterfall into the pool below. The Power of Stealth is underneath the large ray resting on the pool's floor. You must use the Song of the Turtle to guide the turtle until it hovers over the ray, then dash attack the turtle. The turtle will scare the ray away (for only a brief moment) revealing the Power of Stealth glyph. You must guide Ecco to the glyph as quickly as possible.

Once you have learned the Power of Stealth, use the Stealth power-up that's under the rock formation and exit the level through the mirror door inside the cave.
