Old School Strikes Back
Originally released in the arcades by Psikyo, Gunbird 2 is a vertically scrolling shooter that has been converted for the Dreamcast by Capcom. The game lets you select from seven characters who are all seeking three Elements that must be taken to the potion god. While the game sports 16-bit era graphics, the sprites are extremely detailed and very well animated. The sound effects and music are also well done, but don't really stand out as memorable. Control is crucial in shooters, and Gunbird 2 delivers. The game can be really difficult, but, thankfully, you can choose from seven ratings, ranging from "Very Hard" to "Baby." Gunbird 2 is a satisfying shooter that has tremendous replay value and is highly recommended for fans of the genre.
