Review: Spider-Man
Activision?s smashing superhero adventure game appears on the Dreamcast. Fear not, true believer, it?s awesome.
Even though it?s taken the better part of a year to do it, Treyarch has polished up old Spidey for the next-generation system while keeping the gameplay rock solid. For those of you who missed the previous versions (PlayStation first, then N64), let?s get you up to speed: Peter Parker is covering a science demonstration given by a ?rehabilitated? Doctor Otto Octavius (a.k.a. Dr. Octopus), when a Spider-Man imposter steals a multimillion dollar piece of technology. What ensues is a classic Marvel caper, filled with sinister super-villains, sensational supporting roles by other Marvel heroes, and tons of exciting web-slinging action. The game tests all of Spidey?s special abilities (of which he has many), taking gamers on a thoroughly enjoyable ride from start to finish. For any Dreamcast owner who hasn?t yet played all the way through this game, Spider-Man is a must-own.
