Everybody's favorite dolphin is back, with breakthrough graphics, ultra-responsive controls, realistic fauna and flora, and an amazing ambient soundtrack!

Everybody's favorite dolphin is back! Breakthrough high-resolution 3D graphics, ultra-responsive controls, realistic depiction of oceanic fauna and flora, and an amazing ambient soundtrack are just some of the features of Defender of the Future. Ecco's latest journey will take the player through mysterious and expansive underwater environments, which were recreated with the help of videos, photographs, and samples from National Geographic. In addition to the visual feast, players can expect numerous cryptic puzzles, complex mazes, and voracious enemies that promise to push underwater gaming into a whole new dimension. Ecco's moves will include breaching, dashing, and charming other sea creatures into collaborating with him on his epic quest for freedom. Dreamcast owners who have been disappointed by the meek Dreamcast offerings so far will finally be able to see what Sega's system can really deliver when Defender of the Future makes a splash on August 16.
