- NFL Street 2: Unleashed
- Despite its debut on a small-screen format, NFL Street 2 Showdown actually brings a little bit more to the crazy football party than its console counterparts. Notable is the widescreen view at the line of scrimmage that enables you to see receivers and defensive backs, making it much easier to see where you're throwing when you bounce off a wall and whip a pass behind your back. The game's 14 fields include two from NFL Street, and all the offensive and defensive plays from the original and its sequel, NFL Street 2, are also here. The players number 400 from every NFL team, and Showdown includes AFC and NFC throwback teams, too. Here, past and present league superstars play for the teams that made them famous. For example, Jerry Rice is with the 49ers, where he rightfully belongs. Mini-games include three new challenges: Street Slalom, a sort of back-alley obstacle course; Style Challenge, where you see how many style points you can score on one play of your choosing; and Style Standoff, a sort of follow the leader stylin' game.

- NBA Street: Showdown
- NBA Street Showdown features the same 3-on-3 street ball, tricks, and gameplay as those in the consoles versions, but it's more than a port of the TV-needing game. You get two new courts in addition to the 12 from the original NBA Street, new boss players for the King of the Courts campaign mode, and even new uniforms for players. All the NBA teams have representative squads that feature all the superstars of the league, and 22 NBA greats can take the court in Legends mode. You can also take on EA's best fantasy players in Street Legends mode. Party Play mode includes two new mini-games: the Arcade Shootout and Shot Blocker. Just like their names imply, these enable you to get a quickie b-ball fix and hone your handheld skills at the same time. Party games also enable up to four players to challenge each other with two players on the screen at the same time.

- NBA 2005
- At the PSP's opening tip-off, the NBA will check in as the first major sports game. NBA 2005 is a basketball simulation from Sony's own internal development team, 989 Sports. The game packs in all the NBA regular league teams as well as teams from the developmental league, and it showcases all the superstars with spot-on visuals and seamless animation. Exhibition, Full Season, and Play Off modes replicate the challenge of real NBA action, and the Season mode also enables you to build up your favorite teams through trades and free-agent signing. But gamers can also take on a series of mini-games to hone their court skills, including Paint Mode for all-around shooting and the 3-point Challenge. Additionally, the 989 Sports Skills Challenge sets up an All-Star-style competition. Online mode enables two players to go head to head via a wireless connection. However, the real showstopper might be the ability to create your own virtual Upper Deck trading card by taking snapshots of players in action.

- MVP Baseball
- MVP Baseball is notable as the first full-fledged sports sim to come up to bat for the PSP. Early versions offered little gameplay but showed much promise. The batting and pitching interfaces from the console versions make the transition intact. The gameplay uses a widescreen view that enables you to see all the bases. For quick games and party play MVP has new mini-games including Pitcher Showdown and Homerun Derby, but you can also play a full season mode, too. Additional features include Season mode, Exhibition, and you can also listen to and watch music content via the EA Pocket Trax player. This ambitious game is swinging for the fences.
