Star Wars: Ahsoka & Secret Apprentice Lightsaber Debate

I had the chance yesterday to watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars in the theaters, and while it was certianly geared towards a much younger audience (9-12 year olds) I found myself enjoying it. Now granted I am a pretty hardcore Star Wars fan and had really low expectations for this movie, but I'd still give it a 3 out of 5 stars. However, if you have a sweet home surround sound system, you could probably wait for the DVD.

Last week I also got to play the demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Unfortunately it was the same demo that I played at Comic-Con 3 weeks earlier (not cool LucasArts). Regardless, the game looks epic and I can't wait to get my geeky hands on it on September 16th.

In seeing both of these so close together I noticed something that struck me as odd, Ahsoka (Anakin's Padawan) and (Vader's) Secret Apprentice have the same lightsaber dueling Granted this is only something a geeky fan like myself would ever pick up on, but I wonder if it has to do with Anakin's training methods? Did Ahsoka's success as a Padawan push Anakin/Vader to train his next apprentice the same way?

Or is this just pure coincidence that George Lucas and team overlooked when creating these two new characters (both are a part of official Star Wars Canon, so Lucas had to give the "ok")? I'm going to hope for the prior on this one and hopefully spark debate in the process.

If you haven't seen the I'm referring to, its similar to the way a cop or law enforcement official would handle a night stick. It seems like a super aggressive (and if you'd play any of Force Unleashed, you will attest to that), that certainly suites an apprentice of the dark side, however seeing such a pure pupil of the light side with it as well struck me as odd.

I'm sure this is better suited for a discussion on StarWars.com or Wookiepedia, but I know there are SW geeks on GamePro, so I figured I'd give you first shot!
