The trailer was meh. It was clearly just Microsoft's attempt to hype up the crowd and combat Nintendo's and Sony's events.

Agreed. Of course we, as gamers, are less biased and can see past a name. How do you think the mainstream crowd is going to react when their first impression is a console named Wii with an oddly shaped controller? Not too well, I would imagine.
