- Huzzah for the new Gamepro

The gaming community has gotten a bad rap. We are seen as deviants that sit in dark corners and obsess over our games. Today's mainstream culture doesn't understand the passion we hold for gaming. And I'm sad to say we've been perpetuating these sterotypes ourselves. It's our own damn fault.
The previous incarnation of Gamepro was a perfect example of gamers hurting themselves. We had a dark, seedy little site filled with petty squables and e-peen disputes over who's console is better. If anyone who wasn't a gamer wandered into our forums, they would see nothing but evidence that we are indeed just as deviant as they think we are.
Now we have a new site, a clean, somesay "pure" site, with easily readable content. No longer do Gamepro members huddle in the shadows. We ha...

About Me
I've been playing games since that Christmas oh so long ago when I first got the NES Power Pack. Being an amateur writer, I am drawn to games that tell a good story. I played the Civilization series for two years straight, and the same time playing Final Fantasy titles on the Playstation, and looking back, I guess you could say that was when I began to become an actual gamer. In 2005 I was introduced to MMOs, first Anarchy Online (whose lack of story bored me to tears after the sheen of the online gameplay experience wore off) and then World of Warcraft. I've been hip deep in WoW ever since, but have also branched out to play various RTS, Shooter, and RPG titles for both PC, Wii, and PS3. IRL I work in the game industry, but only on the peripheral. It's a great thing to be in touch with the inner workings of the games I love while at the same time being separate enough that I don't get jaded. The minute I stop loving games will be the minute to find a new career.
