Gotta Catch 'Em All - Items, etc.

If you've played a Super Smash Bros. title before, you know that items - bonuses, weapons, etc. - are prone to randomly appearing on-screen, suddenly and unexpectedly altering the flow of various matches. Super Smash Bros. Brawl looks to be no different in this regard, offering a wealth of extras to grab.

For example, banana peels that cause characters to fall on their butt when stepped on or firecracker launchers that produce spectacular pyrotechnic results. Don't forget gooey bombs that can attach to objects or opponents before exploding and giant golden hammers that let you float in the air or bash rivals' heads in either.

Mmm, Cracker Launcher. Firecracker, that is.

Even stranger objects such as super-spicy curry enable you to shoot flames from your mouth, while bumpers that can be set on stage backgrounds or in midair suddenly bounce colliding characters off with stunning force. Grab an Assist Trophy, and you'll enjoy brief help from a summoned, secondary hero too, i.e. a mallet-hurling hammer brother or screen-obscuring Nintendog.

From gift-bearing presents to destructible barrels, smoke balls that obscure visibility and even returning favorites like the fire flower, beam sword or size-enhancing mushrooms, the variety of collectible surprises should prove satisfying (and game-changing) to say the least.
