Hands-On: Capcom vs. SNK 2: EO

The popular 2D fighter that pits the Capcom and SNK factions against each other is back again, this time with a new control feature that promises more offense in your battles.

Capcom?s most prolific fighting series is evolving once again, this time onto the GameCube. But don?t expect the same old one-two punch in EO. In fact, the EO stands for ?Extreme Offense,? which means instead of tangling up your fingers performing numbing motions, you?ll now be able to execute special and super moves with just the touch of the C Stick. This new type of gameplay took some time to get accustomed to in the preview version, but after a few rounds, comboing opponents to a defeat was a cinch.

In all, you?ll be able to brawl with 44 selected fighters from the Street Fighter, Final Fight, Darkstalkers, Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, and King of Fighters series. EO will also retain the Capcom vs. SNK?s power-up feature of choosing a groove to fight with, which is essentially the type of powerbar to use during competition; in this version, you?ll be able to choose the C, A, P, S, N, or K grooves...clever.
