Update: Pikmin

The day of the vegetable-peoples? rise to power grows nigh! More screens of Nintendo?s crazy plant-breeding strategy lie within!

All right, so, like, get this, man?you?re a tiny silver spaceman who squints a lot, and you have this magic ray on your head that controls hordes of little sentient vegetable people to do your bidding. Ya know, like build bridges, knock down obstacles, and relocate assorted heavy things, that kinda stuff. But it?s not, like, slavery or anything, it?s all good, cuz you?re making them do all this in order to save them from these giant red predatory frog things, and these enormous ground-dwelling storks that, like, pop out of the ground and eat them in big piles. Only actually, they?re not really that big, it?s just that you?re so small they only seem big and scary, and they wouldn?t actually be scary to, like, ya know?us. Oh, and dude! What?s actually scary is that only the blue vegetable men have mouths?

If any one game in the early GameCube lineup looks primed to satisfy the requirements of Nintendo?s self-imposed dare to be different, Pikmin is it. Nintendo recently coughed up some new screens and art from the strategy game that has as many people confused as it does terrifically delighted?take a look for yourself if you don?t believe.
