Engadget: Nintendo Revolution to be Called "Nintendo GO"

Hardware blog Engadget gets reports on name of new Nintendo system

The new Nintendo console may not be a "Revolution" after all. Hardware blog Engadget is in posession of two images that could solve one lingering mystery of Nintendo's Revolution console: its name.

The first image shows a slideshow frame that depicts a previously unseen logo, as well as a new name: "Nintendo GO."

A Japanese-speaking Engadget editor has translated pieces of the text found in this slide, but can't directly discern its full meaning: "the text contains fragments like 'the brand (reflects),' 'contains system-level,' and '-technology in latest info.'"

A second image, also found on Engadget, was forwarded by an anonymous reader and shows a pamphlet decorated with the same logo and name.

Nintendo did not announce the final name of its system at the Game Developers' Conference as some had expected. But the company has been careful to remind the press that the "Revolution" monicker is a codename.

The console is due in November, so in all likelihood, Nintendo will be confirming the Revolution's final name soon.
