Review: WarioWare Twisted!

WarioWare Twisteds unique gyro system and bizarro visual style will have you turning to the Game Boy for fun.

A more appropriate name for a game there never was. WarioWare: Twisted is a goofy, bizarre, and deceptively fun game that will have you wheeling your Game Boy around like a drunken cabbie through downtown Tokyo.

Twisted is a&erspin-off of the WarioWare collection of micro games, which uses a GBA cart with a gyro sensor. By actually twisting and turning the Game Boy you solve a diverse range of onscreen puzzles. One second youre shaving, the next youre fending off attacking samuraieither way your Game Boys in motion. The uniquely wacky WarioWare visual style is in full effect, which treats your eyes to imaginatively diverse visual imagery.

The controls are laughingly fascinating. The simple gyroscopic mechanics orchestrate surprising things onscreen. To juice the challenge they just toss in a couple of button presses and speed things up. There are 200 insidiously addictive game-lets and be carefulthe longer you sit playing the more likely you are to look like a fidgeting maniac. This version of WarioWare is an odd and amusing challenge. It is simply twisted.
