Review: Samurai Jack: The Amulet of Time

Dudes in robes are cool. This game is not. A paradox!

Just like Konami's eerie Castlevania series, you get to explore a world rich in spikes and moving platforms, some of which are only accessible after acquiring special power-ups. Unlike in Castlevania, though, the graphics are middle-tier shareware quality, Jack is impossible to control, the collision detection is from Mars, and pop-up item displays can actually hide incoming enemies. To put it bluntly: In the realm of "annoying, ugly action/adventures about heroes looking for a way home," Samurai Jack is neck-and-neck with E.T. for the Atari 2600. Look out! You've been warned.
