One of the best DS games.

This continues to be one of my favorite DS games out. Pros: There are alot of these. The cartoon animations look clear and crisp, and make an already great game look even better. The control is simple and easy to use, and the implementation of the touch screen is great. The game is kind of short, but has enough extra features and collectables to keep you entertained for a good amount of time. The soul collection is put into 3 different types, and are all useful and sometimes required to beat the game. Cons: There are very few. Sometimes soul collection can get repetitive and frustrating when some souls seem to take to long to collect. The replayability is rather low, and some souls just seem so useful you don't understand why they exist.
Good!

This is a typical Castlevania game that doesn't differ much from the normal formula that is sure to please die hard fans of the series. There is not very much depth to the gameplay or the weapons system. It seems to be more of another symphony of the night knockoff that suffers from the graphical limitations of the system. The big thing missing is the sound. I am still waiting for another Castlevania to ever successfully score the game as beautifully as the soundtrack as Supercastlevanis IV did. Looking past that it's still a fun game that is great on the go and offers plenty of hours of enjoyment.
Sorrow isn't even the word anymore

Ah, Castlevania, I remember going through Dracula's castle and whipping skeletons to death. This is Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for the DS, and like other Castlevania games, it requires you to stare hard at your DS with your sweaty palms on its sides for hours and hours of leveling up and trying to figure out if that's the right route to explore. But hey, it's Castlevania, what do you expect? Casltevania takes place in 2000 and something, you play as Soma Cruz, an exhange student to whatever school he goes to, but that's not the point. In the game, you have many many weapons to collect and upgrade into massive weapons of destruction. In the game, you venture through a replica of Dracula's castle, killing bosses, searching for secret routes and obtaining many abilities from the bosses you kill. The level up system is pretty straight forward, and you can upgrade your weapons from the souls you capture. Most of the game is all about collecting souls from monsters, but it is annoying to massacre each moster hundreds of times until you get that soul. Each sould gives you an ability that will make the game much easier, pretty much. If you like other casltevania games, or feel like playing a side scrolling RPG, this is the one for you! I give Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for the DS a 3.5... out of 5
