PocketBike Racer

Burger King is offering three games for the low, low price of only four dollars with the purchase of a value meal. Cheap doesn't even begin to describe these games.

Pocketbikes?

I'm not sure that pocketbikes are "hip", but obviously someone in marketing thought so. As with Sneak King, Blitz Games decided to take a beloved franchise, strip it down to its barren base, then inject Burger King advertising into it. They even felt the need to insert a horrific 3d rendering of playboy supermodel Brooke Burke, as if that would somehow sweeten the deal. This time they decided to work their greasy magic on Super Mario Kart and the gameplay draws heavily from that classic; you race, shoot projectiles at people and powerslide.

Unfortunately, once you remove the lovable Nintendo characters from the formula and replace them with soulless agents of advertising, you've lost most of the appeal. You're left with a slightly disturbing and shameful mockery of what was once a cherished wholesome media icon; sort of like Michael Jackson. The game is actually a competent combat cart racer and if you enjoy that sort of game, it's probably worth the paltry price tag, but for the rest of us, it's a pass.
