The Darkness (Page 2 of 2)

The Darkness has that cinematic look that's becoming ever so popular. For starters, there's no heads-up display; All the information you need is detailed in the tattoos and eyes of The Darkness's serpent heads. Their markings display the amount, and level, of your Darkness powers. This is important when it comes to summoning Darkling minions, which fall into roles such as Gunner and Kamikaze. From what we played, these A.I.-controlled creations are awfully clever, and know to keep to the shadows and strike enemies quickly.

The Darkness Clouds My Senses

Up to eight players can compete in several different online multiplayer modes, including a fast-paced variation of deathmatch that allows players to morph from a human to a Darkling creature with one button press. In your human form, you wage war with a typical array of shotguns, dual pistols, and assault rifles. But as a Darkling, you can pounce over great distances and climb on the walls and ceiling, a la the Alien from Aliens vs. Predator 2. It's a fun mix--humans with their ranged weapon mastery, Darklings with their devastating melee attacks--and should earn a respectable online following.
