Pics of Xbox 360 in Action "Leaked"

Either some dad's going to get the axe by Microsoft real quick, or it's another viral marketing ploy.

Yet another Xbox "leak" occurred yesterday, as a 16 year-old whose dad purportedly works for Microsoft posted digital pics of himself playing with the actual Xbox 360.

The teenager's stepfather purportedly brought the 360 to test to see if the power supply doesn't "explode." The kid's friend then purportedly snapped some shots of the next-gen console in action.

While sounding like an embarrassing leak on the surface, there are some signs that the incident was fabricated--the pictures of the living room/kitchen are strikingly spartan, and the TV seems to have been plopped on the ground for the sole purpose of playing the game (which is Halo 2, as if to show the world that it is indeed backwards compatible). And why such a low quality TV for somebody who's high enough in the corporate echelon to be able to take an Xbox 360 home?

Speculations aside, it does support Microsoft's claim of a 2005 release. Rumors have been circulating that the Xbox 360 is slated for a November 15 release--expect Microsoft to announce more details soon.
