Resident Evil 5 has been unveiled and, with 22 screenshots and a new trailer, presents a whole new host of mysteries. GamePro digs deep to find every secret in the new trailer.
New Locals*
The ancient temple in the opening scene looks similar to the Mayan ruins in this summer's Hollywood movie, The Ruins.
The underground caves are dark and filled with zombies. Chris will need a spotlight (as seen in the latest trailer) to light his way.
*Two more new locations can be seen in the beginning segment of the trailer: A quick glimpse of an underground city, and what looks like a foggy bayou sparsely dotted with stilted houses.
Pet Semetary
Sherry Birkin?
This could very well be the legendary Sherry Birkin from Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil trivia suggests if Sherry Birkin was 12 years old in RE2 that would put her around age 22 in RE5.
New Partner
Yep. Chris Redfield is getting another "female partner." She, who remains nameless, is likely to be the much-rumored cooperative play partner in the final game.
Las Plagas and Molotov Cocktails
I'll never forget a mouth like that. A few enemies in Resident Evil 4 had the same bad-breath attack. Chris Redfield is investigating the origin of the Las Plagas epidemic in Africa, the birthplace and (possible grave) of humanity.

She's not nameless anymore, it was already leaked that her name was Sheva.

And they have leaked the name of the place RE5 takes place in...Jijuju I think it was. If you had the close captioning on the trailer when it previewed on TV, the guy with the magephone said it.

If they are the Las Plagas, then they're a different breed than the RE4 ones since they couldn't survive in sunlight.
