Review: NBA Live 2002
Now appearing live?it?s NBA Live. Ha! But does the Xbox have what it takes to drive EA?s basketball franchise?
The Xbox version of NBA Live 2002 is almost a carbon copy of the PlayStation 2 edition?but seeing how much the PS2 got right this year, that?s not a bad thing at all. Gamers are still in for the most realistic-looking game of Live ever created. The player models and animations in NBA Live are simply jaw-dropping. The announcers, Don Poier and Bob Elliot, call the game with reserved energy, but it?s easy to get lost on the Xbox controller. Once you learn your way around, however, the response is tight. And you can?t fault the gameplay?it?s ripe with options for players of all preferences, with everything from nitty-gritty simulation stats to 1-on-1 streetball modes. NBA Live 2002 sets a great standard for Xbox basketball.
