Review: Cel Damage
What do you get when you cross a duck with a giant chainsaw? One hell of a dangerous duck.
Cel Damage takes players behind the scenes at an animation studio, where the on-staff creations?including nerdy Flemming, sexy Dominique Trix, and black-and-white duck Fowl Mouth?do battle in their vicious vehicles between takes. All the rules of your favorite cartoons apply: Oversized weapons like hatchets, baseball bats, and sticks of dynamite fly through the 12 arenas, flattening, frying, and flummoxing any other ?toons that get in the way. Car control is spot-on, the character voices are some of the best in recent memory, the music is subtly energetic and the graphics are appropriately silly and bright. Cel Damage is a clever and enjoyable rethinking of the car combat genre that could have been done on any system, but Xbox owners will be glad that it exists on theirs.
