Update: Dead or Alive 3 Booster Disc

Dead or Alive 3 gets an upgrade through unconventional means and the winner is you.

When Tecmo released Dead or Alive 3 for the Xbox at the system?s launch, they promised that extra features in overseas versions would be made available to US consumers at no extra cost. A few months later, a Booster Disc was announced that would load the data to the Xbox?s hard drive.

The procedure is a very simple one that allows you to choose whether you want all extra costumes or just the ones you like best. The reasoning being that costumes take up lots of memory and you might not want to clutter up your hard drive. That said, it still takes up a miniscule amount of available memory. Each character has at least one new costume and some have alternate colors of these outfits as well. The brand new CG opening movie is accessible through the booster disc, but can?t be downloaded so you?ll have to go back to this disc if you want to watch it again.

There are a few things still missing like the extra moves and some play balancing. Tecmo has privately stated that since the booster disc is part of the Official Xbox Magazine?s Demo disc, there was a limit to how much they could fit on it. They could not specify if there would be further boosters, but the idea of a stand alone extras disc is not out of the question. That doesn?t mean it will happen either. For now, you can check out the outfits in these screen shots.
