It is just like GTA without the fun. Following is simple story line of rags to riches it is just like the Grand Thief Auto series. If you want a GTA style game stick to the original GTA or if you have a 360 get Crackdown. With Tony Montana shouting out the same old phrases everytime he got into a fight you get sick of his voice quickly. By the end of the game you want to take Tony and swim into the ocean until a shark eats you.
I hate sandbox games, but man, this one is sweet.

First off, I'm a huge Scarface fan. The movie was freakin' sweet. This game is basically the sequel to the movie and uses the scenario of "what if he survived that mansion shootout". after the shootout, Tony loses everything and must start over from scratch. The story is done very well, the voice acting is terrific. The guy doing the voice for Tony actually sounds like Al Pacino. The music is great. It has some of the music from the movie and also adds songs from the 80's in there. It really feels like you're in the movie. The cities are done well also. You get to go through famous places seen in the movie and interact with characters from before. I don't really care for sandbox games, but i could not put this one down. It's that good. My only issue with the game is that some of the missions are kind of hard. The game is pretty long for a sandbox and the graphics are pretty sweet. And man, I love the rage mode mechanic in the game. (Think of the end of the movie where Tony is invincible during the shootout) You basically do that in the game and I can't get enough. I wish they made more games like this. EA should've taken note from these guys on how to make a licensed movie into a good game. Check this game out, you won't be disappointed.

Superb! I finished the story about 2 weeks ago after 46 hours of gameplay and I gotta say that it was great fun. I started playing it cuz a fellow co-worker was telling me how good it was and how easy it was for him to beat it... he's got a PS2 and I have the Xbox so I decided to get my hands on it and so I did... at first I got really into it but then my co-worker got into Marvel's Alliance and dropped Scarface which bothered me cuz I just wanted to show him he sucked and I could beat him on it so I dropped it as well and so a week went by and I gave my pal an ultimatum... I told him he had to beat it within the next 2 weeks; otherwise, I'd take his PS2 away to play God of War (I've been wanting to play it for a while :P) and that if he beat it I'd get him 3 games and some cash... anywho... the two weeks went by and the lil punik beat the freaking game a few hours before the deal was over... it took him 68 hours and he got it up to 98% done or so he says... so then I took it... I was at around 56% and 33 hours into it so I played for the next 3 days and finally beat it with an 88% done and 46 hours... the endings were different according to what he told me it happened on his... Ok enough of my crappy story.. I still haven't paid off cuz I beat him to it... I won the game much faster than he did.... ANYWHO! I've been playing it some more since and it's just like San Andreas.. you can still run some missions.. you can still get Keys to distribute and I'm 96% done.... it's an amazing game.. the conversations... geez.. I was watching an MTV special of the making of Scarface and it's sweet how all these kool artist came together to bring a sweet taste to such an awesome game.... by the way GTARockstar... the driving was done that way to simulate the way a real car drives... i agree with what you said about it on it feeling like it has the emergency parking brake engaged when you are going up or down hill but for the rest it feels pretty accurate.... and then about the money laundering, well.. you can just save $50mill and buy up the investment which allows you to launder all your cash without losing a dime... Alright alright... happy shooting yall... this is a sweet game to own and I can assure you'll get hooked after the first half hour of playing through it. Peace out :)

Very realistic and down to earth. The driving is similar and yet much better than Grand Theft Auto's. I like the comments that he can make and how the game is very much an adult game. And the graphic are very good on the bullets entering and peircing the character's. And I also like the fact that you can out run the cops, purchase cars, and call them at any time with your drive who is also automatically on your side in any fight.
A great, but not perfect, game

I was hard pressed, initially, to figure out which version of this game to buy. I have a PS2 and an Xbox. In light of how GTA looks on both systems, I chose the Xbox version. First off, I'm a big fan of the movie. Being able to actively change the ending of the movie and go beyond that point was thrilling. Also, the opening credits were very cool as you see Tony cruise past familiar movie locations. (For all you instant-gratification-button-mashing-lets-get-to-the-action gamers, I encourage you to savor the scenes during the intro and opening credits.) Now the gameplay: The gunfights are pretty intuitive and pretty graphic. You DO NOT want to play this game when kids are present. Blowing some guys' head off with a shotgun at pont blank range, or blowing a limb off at the joint will make you jump. With this being Scarface, expect to hear the F-word every 10 seconds - I've heard it about 400 times in the few hours I've played it. The environment is great with a real-Miami feel to it. Little environmental touches such as radios playing with original programs and TV programs being viewed are very nice. One extemely cool feature is the random conversations you can have with people. I expected to listen to the same conversation over and over - but was surprised to hear over a dozen separate conversations while interacting with pedestrians(I'm still hearing new ones). The empire building mode is great in depth, yet easy to learn. Rebuilding Tony's influence and fortune has become a driving force while playing this game. Now for the bad parts. I have heard that the PS2 version looks better than the Xbox counterpart. (Someone may want to verify this) Also, the driving, albeit fun, takes some getting used to. The cars you drive feel like they have the emergency parking brake engaged. I have to push the hell out of the acceleration button or it looks as if Tony is learning to drive a stick shift for the first time. I feel they could have improved the sense of speed and the cars should coast better. Also, negotiating a money laundering interest rate every time you want to save money is a pain in the ass. There's nothing like losing 16% of a fortune because you were a nanosecond too late on a button push. I've redone entire missions just to get another chance to try to get a 2% or lower rate on bank transactions. Other than those points, I really love this game. There is a lot of game packed in here and I can't wait to get home from work to play it some more. For the gamers who can handle the over-the-top violence and language, you have to play this game. Don't miss it.
