Soul Calibur II is one of the most entertaining and replayable fighters out there for the Xbox. Fan of the arcade and Dreamcast versions will be suprised at all the reasons to play this title. Unlockable characters and weapons are not the only thing worth playing through. There are various game modes to be played outside of the classic arcade mode. Survival Mode and Team Battle are added and prove to be challenging when on the harder difficulty settings. Spwan is also an unlcokable character on this game which will appeal to Tood Mcfarlane's comic book fans. The characters as in the previous game all have unique fighting styles and weapon based combat. There are many different combos that can be easily linked. Soul Cal appeals to both hardcore fighting fans and causal gamers and is a must own for anyone who enjoys the genre.

This game is mind bogglingly addictive and after minutes of play on any mode, you becoe obsessed. Never before have i not cared about the lack of a real story in a game-because this game makes up for its lack of a plot 100 times over. there are a wide variety of characters and weapons to obtain for each. If your still reading this review i probably haven't expressed well enough the sheer entertainment value of this game.

Soul Caliber is one of the best fighting franchises there, and I loved the seconed game in the series. But their is one thing that bugged me about this game and that is how cheap the AI is this game is expecally the characters that you have to beat to unlock. The AI in this game just makes me yell an curse at my Xbox and is just plain annoying but that is the only real big issue with this game. The story mode is a forfilly experince that is tied together buy the abbilty to unlock and buy characters, wepons, and coustumes. But there are endless streams of text that you have to read to actually understand the story, I don't play videogames to read!! If I want to read I'll pick up a book!!! The graphics in this game are also just great. the characters and backround are rich with color and realisum. The characters in this game are wide that rang from a hell spawn to a butiful roman goddess . The sound in this game is also just incredible. This game is easyley one of the best fighting games of 2003 but the AI really, really sucks thats why this game not a 5.0

Instead of talking about the game, I will just simply list the Pros and cons of this game. Pros: Great Graphics, Great Multiplayer Mode, Lots of goodies to unlock, Great Game Engine, Alot of characters that you can customize, alot of modes and there is nothing wrong with this game. It's perfect! Best Fighter Ever, Best game of 2003, Best game ever! Buy this no matter what.
