Summary
Game Description
With Fight Night Round 4, EA is trying to accurately recreate the sweet science that is boxing. Round 4 will introduce a new physics system, which will enable pugilists to hit their opponents with glancing strikes or to perform a series of short, clubbing blows while fighting toe-to-toe. Electronic Arts promises a roster of more than 40 real-world boxers such as Sugar Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis and, oddly enough, the ear-chomping, bewildering-statement-making ("I want to rip their stomachs out and eat their children!") Mike Tyson. We expect Round 4 will also deliver some powerful graphical upgrades, making it the most realistic-looking boxer yet.

Just give it a chance
After playing FNR3, I had super high expectations for this game... I mean, what could be better than taking a great game and adding fighters like Tyson and George Foreman. However, when I got it and realized EA had changed the gameplay I was quite disappointed to say the least. So, having bought the game I had no choice but to give it a chance and try and get used to this whole new concept. I started out on the legacy mode and decided to first run through all the training games so that when I built up my fighter "Marvelous Mykal Jackson", I'd be able to max out the training points. Going through the training games helped my fighting immensely. By the time I started the actual fights I found I was able to get in the ring and actually knock the opponents out pretty quickly. I also miss the character creator from round 3, but I've heard the vision camera does a good job. I think I'll go pick one up. It's like everything else, if you give it a chance and get past the initial reaction about the controls, you might find yourself liking this game... a lot!

Round 4 Delivers!
The first thing I thought of when I started playing Fight Night Round 4 was wow, there is a lot of stuff to do. I think the best feature in Round 4 is the Photo Game Face, similar to Tiger Woods Golf, but the finished product is way better. I used my Xbox Live Vision camera, and was shocked at how good it looked when it was finished. It actually looked like a digital me! Great feature.
Second thing I really liked was the fact that you could take the music you have on your hard drive and make it your ring entrance. And, unlike Round 3, these ring entrances are fun to watch. The graphics are so good in this game. I always just hit the A button until the match started, but now I just watch the whole thing leading up to the fight. The game really punmps you up before the fight starts.
Last, and the most important are the conrols. I fell in love the moment I started the little intro when your Ali throwing punches at Tyson. The biggest difference from Round 3 is head movement and leaning. And it works perfectly. In the ring, the fighters move so much better in Round 4 than they did in Round 3. Controls are nice and tight. So, overal for me, this is definetely a must own game if your a fan of the series or a fan of boxing. Its a lot of fun with a lot of content.

Fight Night Round 4 (PS3)
It's hard to forget the first time I landed an orbital-crushing haymaker in Fight Night Round 3: my vicious blow sent ripples across the opponent's cheeks and bodily fluids flying towards the canvas. No other boxing sim since has come close to recreating that amazing combination of visual brutality and gameplay finesse until now -- Fight Night Round 4 is finally here and while it may not have the same revolutionary impact of its predecessor, it's a major step up in nearly every imaginable way.
