More fun than meets the eye.
When I first picked up Shawn White Snowboarding, I felt like a real snowboarder. I'm not though. SWS is an awesome game that has moderately easy controls. But the thing about the tricks is that the game seems to not really care if you fall or not. One thing I first noticed was that once I did one cool trick, I stuck to it. Being a back flip with a front grab. Therefore I forgot everything I had learned in the tutorial, and began to do a backflip on every jump. One other thing that displeased me was the first person camera, it sticks forward when one does a jump, so you don't get that feeling of actually doing a backflip. One thing I would like to see is different variety of parks, they all are pretty much exactly the same. But there was so many things I also loved about this game. Even though it was repetitive, I kept coming back for more because it was a great experience. Shawn White Snowboarding is probably one of the best snowboarding games. Ubisoft should definetly make a sequel with these things in mind.

Sadly Unfun
As an SSX 3 fan I was excited about the chance to choose my own path down the mountain again and pull off huge tricks in Shaun White. Instead, I found out this game sees one flip (maybe two on a huge jump) with a single grab to be an accomplishment. It is more based in reality, which is boring to some as I don't care how a real snowboarder rides, I just want to have fun with crazy tricks and a fast, exciting mountain to ride. The tracks are set up well, but it feels like you are turning a small bus to try and make the tricks you want. Character customization is also under par with few options and most of them just color changes. Also if you've read other reviews you know about the coin collecting, yes its there, it is annoying, and steals away what little fun was left. You find yourself watching the radar just like GTA and not enjoying the ride, you just want to reach the destination. After an hour of searching for these you will notice you are not playing a fun sports title, you are dragging your snowboard at a slow pace while searching for stupid coins. As if there were a further insult possible, the missions almost demand your friends list owns the game as well for some missions to even run, and the single player missions are flawed by horrible turn physics and poor tricks. I don't intend to waste over 8 hours to reach the "ridiculous tricks" in the late game that some reviews complain about, cause this game is not worth my or your time. Sorry for the candor.

Shaun White Snowboarding - PS3
Shaun White (aka The Flying Tomato) is a world-renowned snowboard/skateboard superstar, so it was only a matter of time before he finally got his own video game following in the footsteps of Tony Hawk.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Shaun White's Snowboarding is a fun, open-ended snowboarding simulation that allows you to ride different mountains, all the while catching big air and jibbing rails, trees and boxes. -

Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip
Shaun White's Wii debut bests its high-powered console counterparts, while giving gamers the best reason yet to break out their balance boards.
THE BOTTOM LINE: In a surprising twist on par with hell freezing over the Wii receives the best version of a multi-platform title. Road Trip isn't a perfect ride down the virtual mountain, but it often nails the fun factor that the PS3 and 360 versions sometimes missed. Even better, it offers the best reason yet to blow that thick layer of dust off your balance board. -
