  • Sonic Unleashed - 360

Considering how badly Sonic's last dozen or so games have been, it's a good thing the blue blur has been finally unleashed. He goes a little wild with the freedom, but also gets the opportunity to return to his true self. Sonic Unleashed features classic speed-based platforming action that puts Sonic's previous installments to shame. Unfortunately, a set of dreadfully out-of-place action levels starring Sonic's werehog alter ego brings everything to a screeching halt.

THE BOTTOM LINE: It's tough to teach an old dog new tricks -- Sonic Unleashed tries to introduce new ideas with daytime and evening levels that switch between speedy platform and bulky action, but only the former has any bite. Sonic doesn't need to experiment, he just needs a good dose of the nostalgic design that makes up half of this mediocre game.

The blue blur might have broken through

I think that sonic has came back. This is he second truly great 3d sonic game. What mostly grabbed me was the superspeed and graphics. Sonic has been slow as molasses lately so he made a great comeback. Those critics do not know what they are talking about with the dry storyline and crap. Do not listen to them. The only bad part was the werehog levels. They are slow and boring. Other than that, Buy this game you will not regret it

Is Sonic finally back?

When I first played the demo at a friends house, I was baffled. The visuals were amazing, and much detail lies within the levels. I finally got it at Christmas, along with my 360. The story is okay, but it doesn't last very long. It's annoying that when you get to a HUB area, you can't run super fast. In certain levels, I have to pause rapidly when I go fast to see if there's a hole in the ground or a projectile in the way. Overall, the game is certainly fast and entertaining, despite the stupid Eggman Land stage. I recommend this game to any Sonic fan out there.

wtf is up with critics now a days?

sorry my critic friends, wait no, critics aren't my friends and here is why, they flame games they don't like because they love something else. wtf, as i always say don't flame if you ain't got game. I joined gamepro for 1 reason, to end the flaming with my liquid of free opinion. sonic unleashed in my opinion is a..........great if not perfect sonic experience. now i am not going to be too modest but i suck when it comes to reviews but bottom line. sonic unleashed in my opinion gets an 8.9 outta 10 for it's 5 steps forward with the best kind of story and voice acting and gameplay ever since sab2 and 2 or 3 steps back with an experiment with the werehog. i'll admit it the werehog sections can be flawed but some levels are actually cooooool like the pun intended holoska. No offense gamepro i love you guys and your magazines you've done good but when critics with bad track records review a good if not perfect game i have to step in. over all great game, flawed, but great!!!! get it buy it play it beat it and skip to sonics sections. there will be an extended review with less bash on critics and more on gameplay story and design along with presentation but this is sonicwerehog118 signing the heck off. Rofl!!!
