Game Description

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 is the tenth video game in the WWE SmackDown professional wrestling series, and the sequel to its predecessor, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. The video game is based on the professional wrestling promotion, World Wrestling Entertainment, and is named after two of the promotion's three brands, Raw and SmackDown. This game includes several new features and enchanced modes, such as enhanced tag team matches, the Inferno match, and a new career/season mode entitled Road to WrestleMania.

    THQ steps into the wrestling arena once again, showing off a few new gimmicks in Smackdown vs. Raw 2009. While many sore spots from the previous installments have been fixed or reworked, SvR 2009 feels more like an "it's about time" update than a fresh experience. Still, wrestling fans should definitely get this game -- especially if they've been out of the ring for a while.

    THE BOTTOM LINE: Although it still has some flaws, Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 is a solid helping of great wrestling action.
