It keeps me constantly thinking and adjusting which I like
All I can say is I have crazy fun playing the game. I also like the so called sloppy handling everyone is complaining about. It keeps me constantly thinking during the race. I sometimes have to take a break because it actually wears me down and I like that. Once I figured out the e-brake and clutch combination I had no problems mastering the controls. It just takes some dedication and desire to hone your skills. This keeps me from getting board with the game because it requires me to problem solve and figure out how to get better. Games like Motorstorm and Pure become the same thing over and over.
Although Baja lacks a little in the visual quality, it completely makes sense. Tonight I drove around in a free ride to get some discoveries under my belt. I only found the edge of world once. I was driving around for about 30 minutes and was amazed on how much stuff they put in each world. Now I see why the image quality needed to me held back a bit.
Everyone tries to say Motorstorm 2 looks so amazing. Have any of you played the demo? I was not impressed at all. Personally I feel like their demo trailers are misleading to what the game actually looks like. They did this with the first game also.
Pure and Motorstorm are what they are. High octane arcade game swith boosters and high jumping air.
Baja brings something new to the off road genre and fulfills that niche where people actually want to race as close as they can to real off road.

Baja: Edge of Control (360)
As a Camaro is to a Ferrari, such is Baja: Edge of Control to the world of digital off-road racing. It's a poor man's effort to seize a little soil in the shadow of bigger, better names. It's not nearly as pretty as MotorStorm nor as energetic, although it's definitely dirtier thanks to sloppy handling and gameplay that idles in neutral.
THE BOTTOM LINE Too much emphasis on simulation stalls Baja. Despite a wealth of tracks, vehicles, and varied modes, its sloppy controls make it fundamentally inaccessible. While it's a good value, there's not much fun to be had here.
