Simply Bunk.
WOW. How do you mess up a Ninja Turtles game? You run around a level and beat up Foot soldiers, occasionally grab some pizza, and fight some bosses. Simple right? Apparently not for Ubisoft, who tried to cash in on the latest Turtle movie with this hack-job piece of crap. There's no multiplayer, not even local 2-player, which is simply inexcusable for a Turtle game. Worse, the levels are mostly devoid of enemies and consist of incredibly boring platforming across rooftops or sewers. When you do fight, it's always in a boxed-in area and you're fighting the exact same generic goons over and over with your same three moves. It's boring, and thankfully in this game's case, short.

Man, I kinda-sorta-maybe-perhaps love being a turtle!
Most gamers know perfectly well that video games that are released as tie-ins to movies - Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, and, natch, TMNT - aren't very good. Their main purpose, nine times out of ten, is to boost the franchise's moolah intake. Gameplay? What's that? TMNT isn't a bad game, per se, but rather one of those games that is tolerable as long as it's rented. This game is good for maybe one run-through, then it's time to move on. The storyline is supposedly - "supposedly" because it would take the studio paying ME to go see the movie - the same as the movie it ties in with. So don't expect any Halo-style cutscenes. Of course, because they're ninja turtles, and not just ordinary store-bought turtles, there's a mix of action and stealth. You alternatively cut down hordes of da Foot or platform-jump, wall-climb, and otherwise evade your way out of sticky situations. And yes, you can control all four turtles, switching back and forth right in the middle of the action with not much trouble. The action is okay. Just okay. Taking out wave after wave of bad guys is fun, no question, but it gets awful repetitive, awful fast, especially since your average enemy isn't nearly smart enough for you. Not dumb, just not smart enough. The controls are responsive, but more often than not, you can just button-mash your way out of a battle, no problem. Outside of battle, the controls are slightly more difficult to negotiate. Jumping from one platform to another is tricky - you always seem to feel like you're going to jump clear over it. For extra-long jumps, you can press a button to have another turtle help you clear it, which is supposedly good for your "Teamwork Meter." They tell you not to abuse stuff, but you should abuse that move. TMNT isn't the worst game I've ever played by far, but I wouldn't have it in the house unless I was getting rid of it soon after. It's not at all a worthy $60 investment, but then these games rarely are. And you knew it wasn't all along, right?

Am I Done Running Yet?
I went into this game with an open mind, and I'm still waiting for something to fill it. TMNT is a straightforward and simple game. You run in one direction until you reach the end. Now, mind you, there are certain parts when your race against time is interrupted for a short lesson or to simply fight off some bad guys. However, the only time you fight people are after it subtly tells you to. It does this by having the word fight flash on the screen. Am I starting to sound redundant yet? Also, the camera views are both frustrating and annoyingly bad. Flying through the air in a certain direction, only to have the camera shift on you, and find yourself flying through the air in the wrong direction. On the other hand, if you simply want a game that takes little or no thought, definately pick up TMNT.

Too easy
This game is easy. way too easy. gameplay is extremely repetetive and there is no challenge. you cant do anything to improve your turtle. every level is very similar. jumping over ledges and running up walls.after you play for 5 minutes you realize that your wasting your life.

TMNT
Whether you know it or not, there's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rebirth on the horizon, and it's bigger than a slice of New York City pizza. It's a full-length CGI film starring all four of the famed green ninjas; Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello. It's a multi-platform video game launch that bestows the fate of the TMNT in your hands. But, ultimately, whatever it is, the TMNT are back and better than ever. Cowabunga dude!
