Just good, not great

I, being a piano player myself, was intrigued by this game just for the fact that Chopin was a lead character! It is a bizzare game with a fun concept, but the gameplay is very average. The story is that one day Chopin has a dream upon his death bed of another world. The game, is his dream.

Graphics: Cel shaded anime graphics. The environments are very drab and could use detail, but the chracters look fabulous!

Sound: Great classical music reigns throughout. In between chapters you are treated to a piano piece that Chopin composed. Voice acting is a little dull sometimes.

Controls: They are very simple and work well. Battles are easy and so is navigation.

Gameplay: Here is where some of my biggest complaints lie. The biggest problem is enemy diversity. In every environment, there is no more than 2 different enemy types. This makes fighting grow boring awfully fast. Bosses are the only break from the same ol' same ol'. The battle system has a unique aspect, as you have different attacks based on whether your in sunlight or shadow. This is that deep thought. The rest is your standard RPG, just running around opening chests and continuing the story.

Overall: A decent RPG with many flaws. May want to rent first as not everyone will like this game.

If you like other anime looking RPGs then you will defenetly like this one its turn base but in a new way each turn you get five seconds to move or do whatever you want 5 seconds sounds like a short time but it works very well you have 3 charectors in at a time each charector has their goods and bads some are faster than others, some hit harder, some can hit enemies at long rang, some can heal and other stuff to. you run into battles by bumping into enemies wile walking around they try to bump into you themselfs to so you cant evoid everyone you see. when in battle different parts of the map will be shaded and others in the light. dupending on which you stand in the charectors powers will change. the enemys powers also chang and somtimes even their form changes to its pretty cool the battle system is so fun i went out of my way to fight stuff all the time the world is very colorfull and detaild making it fun to just look around to. the story isnt amazingly creative but good enough to keep the game flowing. the charectors are a good part of the game like other RPGs watching cutscens and seeing how they act tword eachother is great(good set of personalities) challeng wise the game is pretty easy but challenging enough to were you have to try and think. if your into free roaming games this game realy isn't at all it works more like Final Fantasy 10, or Star Ocean were the storyline pulls you through the world on its own i preffer trying this game out the battle system is hard to be disipointed by even if you dont like turn base games and the world is beautifull it got my money :D

This game was fun, with a good battle system. The battle system keeps you engaged the entire battle as opposed to other turn based RPGs. The downside of the game is the fact that the camera angles are clunky and you cannot change them. This means that you cannot see some of the treasure chests in the game, even if they are right next to you. I liked the concept of the game but the cut-away scenes were so very long. I can read faster than the character actors can speak, so I get bored when they are preaching at me. The game is too linear for RPGs these days, and you cannot go back to other towns until the second play through of the game, if you ever bother playing it again. All in all, it's a decent RPG for the 360 since the 360 has a dearth of RPGs.

Leave the anime in Japan!

Well I like anime a little, but not really.I dont like thembecause the storyline is dumb and there are know guns. The characters are strange and well you get my point. The graphics are ok and the sound and gameplay are ok. A.I. could be improvedand a world map would help since I kept getting lost.

I close my eyes and kill the sun as the tall grass catches the wind and wraps around my shoulders. I lie back on the hill and watch the clouds chase the western edge of the sky that stretches out past the port city of Ritardando. In the distance, a piano begins playing a piece by Frederic Chopin, and just before I sleep, those sounds coil in my ears and usher me into my own Eternal Sonata.
