My Crackdown Review

I must admit, when I purchased Crackdown, it was only for one reason: The Halo 3 Beta. I had no idea what Crackdown was even about. I played Halo 3 the whole time it was up on the servers until it was gone. Then I had nothing better to do, so I loaded up Crackdown to see what it was all about. I was really surprised.

This game is actually a lot of fun. Think of GTA with Hulk gameplay. You play as a special agent trying to rid the city of all the gangs. You are genetically enhanced, so you are able to leap across skyscrapers and climb huge buildings. Orbs collected in the game give you more jump, stronger firearms, and bigger explosions. There are 21 boss kings in the game you must find and take out. Each boss has its own henchmen protecting him/her in the area they are in.

The game could be better if it were twice as long and some of the bosses should have been a little harder. It's very possible to go straight to each boss and mop the floor with them. There are rumors that a sequel will be made sometime, but hasn't been confirmed by Microsoft yet.

Just didn't do it for me

I picked this up from my friend for $10. I expected it to be like a more fun GTA, but this game just wasn't doing it for me.

Graphics: I really don't like the look of this game. It's like an ugly cel shade. The environments are huge, but not very detailed.

Sound: It's a big city with alot of noise. Voice acting is pretty hit or miss.

Gameplay: I like GTA, but this is too chaotic. As soon as I hit the streets there was gun shots from every direction and my goals weren't as clear as I liked. I got the hang of it, and had some fun with my super powers. Unfortunately, though, the repitition quickly had lost my interest and it ended up collecting dust. Maybe a rental.

Super Soldier Of Tomorrow

When I firt bought Crackdown, I knew that this was going to be an entertaining game. Nonetheless, I wasn't disappointed. The action is intense, enemy A.I. is decent enough, and unlocking achievements are a challenge. However, I felt the game was a bit repetitive at times. There is basically no storyline...all you do is shoot bad guys and go after bosses. If you are just looking for a good time, this game will not let you down.

Just Old Fashion Soap box Fun

Okay so its not the best polished game, its visuals aren't to die for compared to thers hitting the market today, but that is easily overlooked with this very creative and fun title....Story? well there isn't much of one...Your some superhuman bad boy and there are gangsters running wild and your objective is to......kill em! Man thats easy, and a recipe that some developers get away from these days trying to rewrite the book on what we enjoy and how we play....Not the guys at MS studios...They kept it simple and "old skool"...and it worked...You have a open world loaded with folks you wanna kill and who wanna kill you....As you move about taking out these guys you power up and become stronger faster and just one lethal son of gun....Its fun and its non stop action.... The multiplayer is rather impressive aswell, merely a coop but it works well, you can link up and hop in anyones game and run around together just laying waste of the world.. The bad: well although the lack of storyline is refreshing considering many games focus alittle too much on it these days, but Crackdown could have told us alittle bit more about the world and Agency, the mechanics are abit dated and the aiming system takes alot getting use to...The graphics could have bee better.... But all that being said Crackdown is still simple and FUN....If you haven't played this title yet,you need to, plus its going for 20 bucks now, and you can't beat that.....

CRACKDOWN!!! This game is off the hook. Sure the story could have had some more thought put into it, but other than that its great. Also, you can upgrade your characters agility,running speed, jump height, strength, gun skill, explosive skill, and driving skill. Each time your driving skill levels up, your Agency Cars change when you get in them. Now that is super-sensational-listic. In other words, in pretty neat.lol. In ways its like a future-istic Grand Theft Auto, but at the same time, its a game all its own too. I hope Crackdown 2 has a better story line. Due to the lack of a good story, I cant give this game a full 5.0, but I will give it a 4.75. The Arbiter has spoken!!!
