This game was alot like GTA IV for me, the missions you had to do were fun, the sand box mode is great if you really don't have anything to play so you can just go around and kill people with your Pump Action Shotgun and Tommy Gun, and the good thing about this game is that even though your done with the missions your never done, you got buisnesses to exort, exucation to get, warehouses to take down and the achievements to earn, so really you are never done. I cant wait for two, i saw something on it and it looks likes GTA: Miami Vice.

Awesome audio

Let me just say that as a huge fan of The Godfather Trilogy, this game is very true to the film. I was very impressed that EA got every voice and likeness from the film (with the glaring exception of Al Pacino as Micheal) and managed to take only small liberties with the plot of the film in order to make a game out of it. I also believe this was Marlon Brando's final appearance before his death. Anyways, the setting and mood of the film are here, and it really feels like The Godfather. Gameplay-wise, you play as an original character and work your way up the ranks in the Corleone family by doing jobs for the family in a very GTA- fashion. Many of the missions you will do are the behind-the-scenes dirtywork for memorable scenes in the movie, such as placing the horse's head in the film director's sheets. As far as GTA-clones go, this is a pretty good game but it takes some time and patience to learn and appreciate the clunky controls. In addition to working your way through the story missions, there are numerous businesses and rackets that are fun to take control of, but they get repetitive. All-in-all I enjoyed this game, but I wouldn't really recommend it for those who are not fans of the film.

killer

This game was hot. It wasnt easy to win or easy to die and had crazy graphics and the action was crazy. I merked this game i give it 5 out of 5.

Entertaining Game....For a while at least

I just got a copy of The Godfather and have been playing it for the past week. Over all he game is a lot of fun. It's a decent GTA rip with a nice Mafia spin. The controls aren't as tight as say, Crackdown, but over all the game is a lot of fun. My only concern is how quickly I'm going to tire of it. Like all open world games, it can get repetitive. So far though it's given me about 15 good hours and I'm pretty sure I'll get at least that out of it again. Not a bad pick up if you can get a deal on it.

An offer you should refuse

Some games that are made after movies i don't really have much care for like Shrek, TMNT, Pirates of the caribbean,Transformers etc, because they should just be simply left in the theater. But for the Godfather,a classic movie, they made this game the best that they could in terms of gameplay. It has a "GTA" sandbox style gameplay allowing you to travel around an open-world map taking over rival family territory. While doing this you perform three different missions for the family such as Favors, Hits, And storyline missions. With a handful of side activities such as business extorting. But as you complete the missions you progressively get higher ranks in the family with the ultimate goal of being the NYC Don. With all that said, game is decent in graphics but the gameplay gets very repetive especially if you play alot of open-world games (Crackdown, Just Cause, Oblivion, Saints Row).Other flaws would include a crappy fighting system and the selection of cars arent very good with only 5 differnt to choose from but I can understand that seeing that this game is based in the 1940s. I wouldnt suggest gettin this game unless you really liked the movie like me.
