Maybe I'm bias, cause I've never been much for 3-D fighters, but I like Dead or Alive on the original xbox, so I gave this one a shot. It's a decent fighter, to be sure, but the fun only lasts for a few days.

Story:Eh, it's a fighting game, it's really just a branch of mini stories between each fighter.

Graphics: I guess they are good for a launch game, but Tekken and Virtua Fighter blow it out the water. Character models are pretty decent, but hair is oddly stiff. The environments are nice and detailed though.

Sounds: I found it annoying that all dialogue was in Japanese. Even the Americans talk Japanese! They should have at least varied it up a little. Other than that, there's not alot going on other than the sounds of fists and kicks hit bodies.

Gameplay: It's a 3d fighter with alot of emphasis on grappling and special moves. Some of these moves can be tricky to pull off, but are a lot of fun once you figure them out. The CPU's are suprisingly tough! Even on normal they can beat you down if you don't know what you are doing. It's a good challenge, but unless you have someone to play multiplayer with alot, it gets old fast.

Overall: It's not a bad fighter, but you should save your money for something better.

Great As Expected

Pros Cons
Intense action Not enough content

Amazing visuals

Simply put this is exactly what I expected to follow up Dead or Alive 3. With the same familiar controls Dead or Alive is refreshed with new moves, outfits, and characters (especially a certain unlockable character). If you love fighting games, this one is for you regardless of if you've played the prequels. This fighting series is only bested by Soul Calibur and now Dragon Ball Z (sorry fanboys Tekken is 4th in line, followed by Street Fighter, and then Mortal Kombat). Go out and buy this as its price has been greatly lowered now.

Great Game!!!

Pros Cons
Tight controls Poor storytelling
Amazing visuals Repetitive gameplay

The games awesome and there are so many little things that need to be accomplished that you'll be playing for hours.

Just short of a masterpiece

As soon as I heard about Team Ninja's, Dead or Alive 4 on the 360, my gamer-sense went off. It's the first game I played for the 360 and needless to say, it set a high standard. Aside from some of the best graphics to date and fluent and responsive controls, Dead or Alive capitalizes as an all around complete fighting game. The only downfall to it is like in most fighting games, short story mode. Graphics - 5/5 Story - 4/5 Gameplay - 4.75/5 Feel - 5/5 Sound - 4/5 Replayabilty - 4.75/5 Review Score - 4.75/5
