Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure - Xbox

Graffiti is Art

For those who are just getting into the world of graffiti, this is the game for you. Marc Ecko's Getting Up is an excellent mix of the Grand Theft Auto series with the legendary Style Wars movie. Not only does the player get to tag all over the city of New Radius, but also fight the Civil Conduct Keepers (CCK) on his way to becoming a graffiti Legend. Trane, the main character, is exceptionally voiced by the rapper Talib Kweli. More voice talent is provided by Charlie Murphy, as 'White Mike', and Brittany Murphy, as the news reporter. This is not a run-of- the-mill generic graffiti game, mind you. With talented figures such as SmithSANE, T-KID, SEEN, Futura2000, COPE2, CES, and Shepard Fairey, aka OBEY, supplying their skills, among many others, this game knows what graffiti is all about. If you're worried about tagging or fighting to wack music, have no fear: the game is loaded with an excellent soundtrack. From Mobb Deep, Rakim, P.Diddy, the Notorious B.I.G., all the way to System of a Down. There is no going wrong with this game.

Marc Ecko is the man

Very original game. You don't get this kind of action anywhere else-inmmy opinion. It has a great storyline...like the facing off with these rich kids at the beginning of the game. It's more about the statement of culture and what you see as art rather than tagging. Overall, the game is well rounded with actions and conflicts with gangs. The music is is top notch with P. Diddy and Fort Minor. The graphics are on par with most Xbox games, and the sound effects are pretty impressive too. The setlist for this game is amazing too, you have P Diddy and Fort Minor (Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park) The best part are the controls, which take a cue from Trane. The camera view really helps in keeping the gameplay fresh. This is a definite must-have for anybody who owns a Xbox. You won't be dissapointed.
