I'm a fan of the splinter cell series and placed double agent expecting it to bring some good spy versus merc action but i was disappointed to find spy vs spy with guns. if you played chaos theory or pandora tomorrows multiplayer expecting double agent to be just has good then you will probibally be disappointed but on a upper side the single player is just has good has the one in chaos theory.
Chaos Theory is a sneak backwards

Ok, so this my first review -- woot! Let me preface this review with the fact that I played all the Splinter Cell games in a two month marathon in the following order: 1. Chaos Theory (4.5 out 5) 2. Pandora Tomorrow (4.0 out 5) 3. Splinter Cell (not completed) 4. Double Agent (3.75 out 5) What happened is that I got Chaos Theory and all the other games from Goozex in one shot and never having played the series before I thought I'd test it out. Playing Chaos Theory, I didn't know how much I would enjoyed the sneak games. The other thing about Chaos Theory that led me to play all the other games is the simply awesome next-gen type of graphics. I didn't know my old xbox could do that! I started, however, at the top of the series and worked my way down. Each time I had to relearn new button moves. So when I got my hands on Double Agent I was really excited about the idea that I would be playing an improved Chaos Theory. Well sadly that wasn't the case. Chaos Theory has an interesting story and trust meter function that just isn't fully flushed out. Some of the button functions were improved and I finally learned in this game I could shoot with my pistol a EMP thingy to disable cameras! The game has at the end of the day nothing truly unique to separate itself from the others in the series. In Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow there are a few memorable moments in each game that I will remember for a long time. None in Double Agent. And sadly it took a step backwards in terms of graphics. Double Agent is still a good sneak game, but I suppose after two months of playing the series I was just worn out. Pros: Solid sneak stuff to do Solid voice acting Solid action moments when you just got shoot your way out Better button controls Cons: Weaker graphics -- though still better than 85% of xbox games Short story line -- and the chick on the cover just doesn't cut it... Weak trust meter gimmick -- don't think it would really change the storyline of the game (like a Fable type of game) No "Wow" moments...
