The makers of Snowblind were....snowblind.
This has to be the worst games to come out in recent history. I would prefer the graphics of the first Silent Hill game on PS1 then this thing. The graphics look almost cartoony. Some of the helicopters in the opening sequence looked cell-drawn. The lighting is so poor that there is very little sense of depth. For a 3D game that is a crime. But, my major peeve of this game is the constant interruption of gameplay by cheesey shorts showing giveaways like an incoming enemy chopper. Besides the fact that I don't want the approach of enemy ships telegraphed - hello, surprise is 90% of the point of games - I certainly don't want to sit through a poorly rendered clip in the meantime. In its current magazine ad for this game they quote OPM, "Sheer graphical beauty". That's debatable. Well, suffice it to say, I couldn't handle the incessant interruptions long enough to make it through the first level. Thank God I only rented this game. My advice to Eidos; if you're gonna create a constant barrage of interruptions during gameplay at least make them pleasant to watch.

Bland shooter
If looks could kill then this would be a killer game. It's a great looking game but at its core, just an average shooter. It wouldn't be so bad if the game was original but it rips off Deus X. It has so many weapons and gadgets but you don't need to use half of them. I found myself using one or two guns and just blasting my way through forgetting about the others. Level design and AI are okay but nothing to write home about. The first level looked pretty cool and it also has some nice Mech designs. I'm getting bored with this game and playing it is a chore. I'll wait for Doom.

Since Project: Snowblind's development began, its connection to the Deus Ex series has been severed. Luckily, it's standing on its own merits and shaping up to be a pretty killer first person shooter.
