The Fast and the Freakin' Furious
For someone who has played NFS2 extensively enough to have wrung everything out of the game and still crave more I was intensly gratified to pick up NFS:Underground and enjoy almost every minuite of it. The familiar symptoms came back all too quickly, the sweaty palms, blistered fingertips begging for rest, the burning eyeballs from fear of blinking too much and losing that six lap heat, to me was nirvana. The new feel of the game was very welcome and I absolutely loved customizing and pimpin' out my own ride. And lest we not forget the first time I kicked in the Nitrous boost, I could hear trumpets ringing and angels weeping as the city streets blurred and once mighty opponents were left choking on my high octane fumes. This game is definately a must for racing game fans and those who watch the movies and always wanted to race a city street at 150 mph.

almost the best racing game
Need for Speed Underground is a great game but the only bad things are; no damage, and once you have beaten it the only thing you can do is do quickraces and costomize other cars. I love the way you can trick out your ride. There are endless combonations to the way to can do it. The drag race mode is the best part of the game. It may be short but you just can't stop doing it. If you are thinking about buying this game you should because you won't feel like you wasted your money trust me.

A Lead for "Need"
Need for Speed Underground is the first game to capture in game form what movie producers have in movies like The Fast and The Furious. Although the two are not in any way associated, there is an eerie likeness between the two as seen between the movie "Driven" and Codemasters' Pro Race Driver. The game is a tad linear, but there are so many different combinations for paint, cars, and body upgrades that you can't really get a twin. The controls are iffy at times, and the racing can really get frustrating if you havent mastered the control scheme. The graphics are a feature neon animations similar to those seen in Jet Set Radio Future, and really display the night in a beautiful aura. Rent this game for sure, you may beat it and then want to buy it.

Pretty Good Beginnings
This game is pretty darn good. In fact, it may have not been the tune up everything I expected, but it was very good in a different way. It was all in the sensation of speed, the clever visual effects, and all of those nifty visual upgrades for your car. I bought this game on the pretense of the performance would be great, but it was all style, good driving engine, and presenation that hooked me.
