many options in this adventure and rpg

This Microsoft is not for younger players despite the name Fable. This is action/adventure game is loaded with options as grow in stature in your guild. The guild is a kind of warrior school and business. You have different choices on your quest to defeat Jack of Blades goes along. Each choice affects if your character is good or bad. His appearance changes to match these actions. If you are good it effects the look of your character. He will get a halo and people will treat him with admiring words. Evil deeds like taking treasures that are in the houses of people will lead you to grow horns. You can customize your character in so many ways yourself too. He can have a tattoos, different haircuts, facial hair and armors. The graphics are excellent. The trees and water are some of the best around. The arms and armor look so pretty as the shimmer in the light. The sound is as good as the visuals. The sound of sword and other weapon strikes are vibrant. The world is not fully open but there is a lot of freedom to travel about. You can use portals to quicken travel. The story is told wonderfully with voice acting. The warrior gets a array of many weapons. Numerous swords, axes and bows fill this game. The gameplay allows you to use them with ease and effectiveness. You get a choice of many magic skills throughout. Magic can be upgraded to your liking. You can be a mainly magic user or weapon wielder or even both. That is the theme of this game- choice. This elements of the game really come to together very nicely. The problem with game is its very short length. This hits you hard. That really holds it back.

Despite so many good things the shortness of the quest makes this game average.

Fable is a solid adventure.

Fable was a game that was talked up for years as being somewhat of a "second coming" for RPG/adventure games. The developers hammed it up to be a game in which you could do just about anything. The final product, however, is much more limited in it's scope. You still have a good game, it just isn't up to parr with what was bragged about on it,s part, prior to it's release.

Story: You are a young boy living in a small village. That village is one day attacked, and burned to the ground by savages. You are the only known survivor. Being just a boy, you are taking to a Hero's Guild to be raised and trained into a fine Hero. You also know, that one day, you would like to face the murderer of your friends and family, and exact revenge.

Graphics: Wonderful, colorful, fantasy graphics that I believe push the xbox to new places.Chracters are nicely detailed, though, in a rather cartoony goofy way. All in all, a decent looking game.

Sound: I love the music this game has to offer. It has that fantasy vibe and gets stuck in your head. Also, the characters say some awfully hilarious stuff that had me in stitches.

Gameplay: Gameplay involves you doing quests for money and fame. Often, each quest has two sides to it, a good side, and an evil side. Depending on which one you choose, it will effect what you look like later on. Also you have magic and combat abilities. If you swing a sword alot, you get big and muscular. If you only cast spells, you will grow physically weak. It's a very interesting concept, but it doesn't go nearly as far as the developers had talked like it would.

Overall: Fable is a solid fantasy/action/RPG game with plenty of action and laughs to be a worthwhile experience.

Fable Review

Fortunately for you, this 6 hour game has excellent replay value. Stealing, flirting, and killing randomly leaves the player enough freedom to have a blast within the walls of the city. It's not particularly difficult, but the characters are humorous and there is a lot of fun extra stuff to do. Definitely worth the buy.

Great Game - Must Buy

I came back to review this game because I cant wait for the next installment. Besides being terribly fun, I enjoying the unpredictability of the game. The graphics and gameplay were ahead of their time for the console and I cant wait to see the sooped up version for 360
