Great Boxing Game
If you're a fan of the movie franchise then there isn't a doubt in my mind that you'd like this game. For the most part it sticks to the movies pretty well (to the point that for the first few training sessions they have Rocky hitting slabs of meat in a butcher shop, just like the movie), though it did break script in a few instances, but for most fans of the movie franchise that should be quickly overlooked. On your way to the movie fights (Creed, Lang, Drago and Gunn) you go through a slew of fighters created solely for the game. This is where some of the problems begin to take shape, the most noticeable one is that the difficulty level fluctuates more than a water bed. While you'll breeze through one guy, you might have to burn two or three of your continues on the next, and then tear through Apollo Creed like he's nothing. The graphics are awesome and look incredibly close to their real life counterparts of Sly Stallone, Carl Weathers, Mr. T, Dolph Lundgren, and Tommy Morrison. The controls are pretty tight though at times you will get a little punch drunk despite putting all your weight onto the block button. Other than that the controls follow pretty well. All in all a great boxing game with an incredibly high replay value that definitely warrants a purchase.
