Dog fighting the way it was meant to be played
Crimson Skies plays like a cmoic series from the 1930's. Set in an alternate world where planes rule the sky. Think of Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow. Crimson Skies is XBOXs answer to Rogue Squadron and it comes close to beign jsut as good but falls short only a little. You can choose from one of several planes throughout the game as long as you can unlock them, they are not all apparent as you play through so look carefully. The planes are also upgradeable. Single player story mode plays alogn the same lines as Rogue Squadron does. Where Crimson Skies really shines is multiplayer. The first game to really take adavantage of XBOX Live you can sign in and play several game types. From all out dog fights to capture the flag you can battle several online players. All that salckign is a good match making system. A host is required to create a game and set up the match settings. If a player joins who doesnt have all the new maps or planes downloaded to the hard drive are not prompted to do so.

Cool planes, simple gameplay, spectacular game.
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge is quite a game. I have not played it on X-Box Live, but even without a computer, it is still a great game.

Shock and Awe, Pure Shock and Awe!
How do I start? Umm...ok buy this game and buy X-Box Live with it! This game is pure genius! I must admit, a year ago when I first heard of it I thought it was going to be a horrible PC port. They polished and made it shine with the Live support. The graphics are among the best on consoles and proves why you bought an X-Box. The first time you watch the casings from your bullets fly past your wings you will understand. And the suttle details like small pieces blowing off of zeppelinns when your bullets rip through its hull are amazing. Along with nice water affects and beautiful explosions this is a great graphical package. The sound is top notch with great voice acting that makes you fall in love with the heroes and despise the bad guys. There are great affects like the sputter of your engine and cursing of your enemy as he eats lead. Whats that you say? There's no game without gameplay? Well I'm happy to report this has tight controls that keep you coming back for more. They are easy to learn, but have special manuevers to learn so you come back for more. I like the set-up with the triggers as your weapon buttons so you can unleash bullets and missles without having to move your thumb. The only gripe is the game is a little on the short side, but that doesn't matter because it has Live support to keep it playable forever. You won't forget the first time you take down a veteran pilot and watch his plane explode into nothingness, pure satisfaction! All in all, great package, go buy it!
