MechAssault - Xbox

Blow stuff up while you're fifty feet tall.

That's more or less the point of this game. You pilot a giant BattleMech against infantry, tanks, helicopters, and other 'Mechs and try and destroy targets. Sounds simple? Usually, it is. The levels, though, are done so that they really do get tougher as you go along. At first, you're trampling infantry that can't really do anything to you, then you're fighting off five, six 'Mechs at a time. Still, if you're a fan of the genre/are easily amused, this will be fine.

MechAssault - Xbox

A very exhilirating experience on Xbox Live.

MechAssault stomps its way onto Xbox with tremendous force. If there was any reason to own Xbox Live, this is it. It offers fast and endless combat and even with a few flaws, it's still a machine gunnin', laser-pulsin', rocket-launchin' frenzy. MechAssault is an exceptional game for both veterans and newbies. It's a game based on teamwork and strategy. Run-and-gun alone, and you'll be killed in the blink of an eye. Focusing on the little Mechs while ignoring the huge monsters blasting your head off, and you'll be killed in half a second. Sticking by your teammates and talking over the Xbox Live headset are critical for planning attacks and gang-ups. Still, you'd still have a blast on the fast but occasionally dull single-player levels. The countless types of multi-player modes adds even more to MechAssault's arsenal. This would've been a legendary games without a few flaws. First, its arcadey feel may turn off hardcore FPS players who are looking for team-based shooters . If you want real teammate combat, check out my Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 review for Xbox. Sometimes, the arcade style of play may go over the edge when it looks like your Mech is actually sprinting toward your target when it weighs close to 3000 pounds. The little Mechs get annoying quickly when you pick a Mad Cat or another heavy Mech, because it's so frickin' hard to hit the little bastards accurately. A little help in that department would've helped out the newbs a bit. Still, this is a formidable game. Combing both Unreal Championship and smart combat makes this game a must have for the Xbox. I myself am still playing online, even a year after its release. Yes, it's quite good.

MechAssault Kicks WOB butt

This game is great. Nothing evolutionary, but still a great game. The single player is good but a little on the short side. The online multi'player is probobly either the best of maybe second to Wolfenstein. Live or not its a great game.

Hot buy!

This game is fantastic i can see why people might not like this game if they don't have live, but woa then get live, cuz this game is the best live game to date. the graphics in this game i thought were very good looking and the frame rate is perfect. So 4.5 for the graphics. Now for the sound, i like the sound nothing special, but i do like the music. So 4.0 for the sound. The controls feel very comfortable and are easy to get used to. So 4.5 for the controls. Now on to the fun factor.. A definitve 5.0. i have never played so much of 1 game in my life. To really enjoy this game you need live. So i say if you don't have live then atleast rent this game, but if you happen to have live, then get out of your seat and grab this game while it's still hot, cuz you will never have this much fun. also this is the best live game to date, i just can't seem to put it down. So the final score for this game is a definitive 5.0. Enjoy!

40 foot tall mach+ lots of levels and live = fun game

the game is sweet but the multie player is sweeter. I haven't had a chance to try it on live but the multie player rulls! it has a lot of missions and the multie player never gets boring with all levels and modes of play.
