Punch-Out!! by Nintendo for the Wii puts you in the role of young boxer Little Mac, and you have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to battle the big guys of the World Video Boxing Association circuit. Take them on one by one, starting with skinny Glass Joe. Battle up through King Hippo and all the way to the WVBA Champion himself. Players use their best jabs, hooks and power uppercuts to knock out opponents, but must pay attention to subtle changes in their body position to dodge jaw-breaking blows.

Punch Out! Review

Single Player: This is what you will play the most considering the bad multiplayer that i will talk about later. The main game has around 12 opponents, you might think that that's not a lot, but after you play them they become harder by taking less damage than normal. The opponents are very smart later on and you can practice against them in practice mode where you can't get knocked out, all of the opponents have challenges that you can complete just to add some replay value. 9/10
Multiplayer: The multiplayer is lacking because it is not like the real game at all! It sucks because when i played for 3 hours, and my brother didn't play it yet and he still beat me! I was mad because it is not like the singleplayer at all! 4/10
The controls: THey are great if you just use the wiimote, good if you use the wiimote and knunchuck, and i haven't tried the balance board yet so i can't review that. You can do a low punch, high punch, and uppercut. You have to get a star to use the uppercut by catching your opponent offguard, if you get hit while holding a star it will go away.8/10
The veridict: Punch Out was a great game and the single player was awsome, only bad thing is the multiplayer. 4.25/5

A well made product

I have played mortal kombat Armageddon(I think that's the name) I hated the controls. so I was wonderitng about online no good so I waited for this game I played the NES version (it rocked) and I was kind of put of because of mortal kombat Armageddon(I think that's the name) had bad controls but I was proved wrong I was stunned. If you have a wii pick up this game. this is so far my favorite fighting game on wii(don't count smash bros.)

We had to wait 15 years for this?

I had very high expectations for this new version of Punch Out! However, I was disappointed to learn that there are only 13 characters and only one of them was new to the series. Let me just say that this game plays well (classic and motion controls), looks and sounds great, and has that same addicting quality that previous Punch Out! games had. But the lack of content and limited characters really make you scream for more when its over. I was expecting more characters to be included. The ones here really aren't as challenging as say the twin brothers at the end of Super Punch Out! on the SNES. It would have been even better to give us more characters to fight against, rather than the lame multiplayer included. Note to the developers...more characters please. I mean Super Punch Out! had more than 13. The Wii version should have no less than 25. Would that be such a bad thing? If some people think thats to much then a simple tweak in the options menu could help modify that amount that way everyone is happy.
