Sonic Unleashed - 360
Considering how badly Sonic's last dozen or so games have been, it's a good thing the blue blur has been finally unleashed. He goes a little wild with the freedom, but also gets the opportunity to return to his true self. Sonic Unleashed features classic speed-based platforming action that puts Sonic's previous installments to shame. Unfortunately, a set of dreadfully out-of-place action levels starring Sonic's werehog alter ego brings everything to a screeching halt.

THE BOTTOM LINE: It's tough to teach an old dog new tricks -- Sonic Unleashed tries to introduce new ideas with daytime and evening levels that switch between speedy platform and bulky action, but only the former has any bite. Sonic doesn't need to experiment, he just needs a good dose of the nostalgic design that makes up half of this mediocre game.

GP why not also review the Wii version cause its actually different insted of posting 2 reviews of the exact same game
Well this is my first review and I'm gonna try to sound as professional as possible.
To start of my review I'll mention a few things about the series, It started as a simple project to compete with Nintendo's mascot Mario that turned into his all-time rival and became a gaming Icon of its own the IT came: 3D.
After Mario made a successful and flawless transition Sonic made a rough around the edges yet successful transition. After that his good games have been buried in bad elements like gimmicks (Teams in Sonic Heroes, Guns in Shadow the Hedgehog) large and numerous glitches (Sonic '06) bad controls (Sonic and the Secret Rings) and somewhat annoying camera (all of the above). So this time they decided to combine the good elements of their games (Adventure, Secret Rings, and Rush) and made a more than successful 3D game.
And then, when all was thought fine and dandy, IT was Unleashed: the Werehog. Now I know most people say "this game is 1 half awesome and speedy game and 1 half bad gimmick" but my opinion differs a bit, its 50% awesome and speedy game 25% good, yet repetitive, hack n' slash 25% awful platforming. Don't get me wrong, I slightly enjoyed Night stages but I don't wanna see them in another Sonic game, although I wouldn't mind seeing it as a stand alone non-Sonic game with the same, but enhanced, gameplay mechanic (add weapons, more combos, and NO PLATFORMING).
As for Day time stages their almost perfect, I think there is too much 2.5D and not enough 3D which i think is more enjoyable than, dare I say, the classic sonic games. The controls work awesomely good in both fronts (Buttons and Motion) but I personally prefer motion cause it makes werehog combat less repetitive. The game is a little short but there are tons of unlockables enough to keep you busy for a while. I recommend it for everyone and I believe Sonic fans should be happy that Sonic is on the road to recovery and considering how good the Day stages where I believe the road will be short.
Other facts:
Graphics-Awesome for Wii, its comparable to the other versions aside from the framerate and the cutscenes are just plain beautiful
Story-Average and unnecessary.Although many people say that that it doesn't add anything to the game they fail to mention it doesn't subtract anything from the game eather
Sound-Although those hard rock themes will be missed (Please bring back Crush 40!) SEGA decided to make an original soundtrack which is chuck-full of memorable themes and instant classics. The orchestrated World Adventure theme has potential to be the main theme for the Sonic series just like the world famous theme that Mario has had for years (and could have a badass hard rock remix courtesy of Crush 40). And voice acting is a cut above the other games but there is still room for improvement.

An awsome sonic game with flaws
I was absolutly hyped for this game. The E3 Beastly tralier just blew me away. It was like your parent returning after a 1 year holiday. And it met my expectations. This is probably THE best Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast (Note I haven't played th Gamecube remake of SA2.) The game has a good, engainging story and it's one of the best storylines in a Sonic game. The controls are spot on, the graphics look like something off a 360 and PS3 game. The music is just awsome. If you're a fan of Beat 'em Up's like Streets of Rage, Final Fight, etc the werehog will probably make you have fun. The daytime levels are what a Sonic game should be. The nightime levels are preey fun when you overlookthe slow speed. Othough if you did have lots of speed some parts would be REALLY hard to get past. But the enimes in the Sonic levels hardly kill Sonic. 5/5

Sonic still hasn't got it
Come on Sonic, make a good game; like the good ol' days. This is no different than the other failure games from the series of Sonic games. I'm on my knees begging you, Sega, please make a good game.

Sonic Unleashed Review
Sonic Unleashed could have been better, the night levels aren't much fun, it doesnt feel like a sonic game they make u fight and fight to advance to the next part of the mission. The day time is a awsome part of the game, it makes u think ur running fast, the controls were really nice, u'll get the hang of the controls quickly, another problem is there is way more werehog levels than there is sonic levels, which sucks i wanted to play my first sonic game for the wii
But i should have waited for Quantum of Solce to be back in stock. Dont buy this game if u do not like fighting because that is the vast majority of the game(werehog levels) But the sonic missions are worth the werehog misssions, RENT BE4 U BUY!

sonic unleashed review
This has to be at least in the top 20 best games for the nintendo wii for 2008.
The visuals are among the best on the wii.
The game play is fun for the most part.
(including some of the night time parts)
and the scenes were interesting to watch.
but ofcourse some of the night gameplay was tedious after a while
