WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008 - Wii

WHY WHY

Well well wrestling is on the wii is good or bad read my review First of all before u nintendo fan boys get on my case the idea was great for wwe 08 to be on the wii it just didnt hold up to others. not only the graphics which are worst even worst than the ps2 the control scheme is ok the extra stuff they do like in the tag match. Now the worst part which made me throw down the control was seeing triple h do a rey rey leg drop the game was done for me just like this review. That's it that's all

Smack Down Vs Raw 08

I picked this up a few days ago just to see what it would be like. Let me first say that I am a big wrestling fan so I am not always as picky with those games as others. graphics I'm not usually a graphics person but they do look a little dated. Especially the crowd as some of them dont look finished. It reminds me of the PS2 version.Controls OK I dont mind motion sensing but have it in the game in a natural fashion. Swinging left to right doesnt exactly immerse me into the game. The taunts are fun, especially DX and a few of the corner moves and covering moves are cool with the motion sensing. Its just the main attacks that kill it for me. After a while I got accustomed to it and now its not an issue but at first it really annoyed me.Also it doesnt happen often but I lose my connection it seems. It stops responding to any motion input. I have a similar issue with my sixaxis sometimes so I am thinking its just something with Blu tooth and not an actual issue with either controller or game.Gameplay Bare bones compared to other games. I did like the new main mode Its not as in depth but it does have replay value with different paths unlocking different wrestlers and Arena's.The PPV matches can get repetitive as its always in the same arena you won the belt in and it can be the same people you face for 5 or 6 PPV's. No Elimination Chamber matches or back stage brawls. Just Hardcore, Single, tag, Triple threat, KO, and something else that slipped my mind. Conclusion OK you might be asking yourself "Why did he give it a 3.25 if there isnt that much going for the game." Yes its true the game has many flaws but it also has some good qualities. Mii integration is pretty cool. When you take a big hit you see your Mii respond to that hit. and the immersion factor of the more in depth moves is very rewarding. Being able to act my frustration at RKO but throwing real punches was very satisfying. While it doesnt hold its own compared to the other version it does have something to offer some of us out there. Though I am not sure if I would recommend this game to anyone wrestling fan or not. The series needs a lot of work on Wii and I hope by this time next year we are getting the same value as other console owners.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 surpasses the 2007 version while still remaining true to the spirit of the sport. Although there are some problems, it does a great job of giving wrestling fans a chance to live the life of a wrestling superstar. Unfortunately, the Playstation 3 version, trips and falls short of the mark set by the 360 version.
