Under-rated Excellent Fighter

Most people will see this game, and pass it up, or will look at reviews for it, which give it bad credit. I disagree with those reviews. Godzilla Unleashed is an excellent, fast paced and brilliantly designed brawler with an excellent story mode and multiplayer. No, the game does not have online, but adjustable AI and the ability to bring in friends is enough for me. I'll start this review with a detailed look at the story mode. The story mode as a pretty nice plot, but does a rather bland job of telling it. Mysterious crystals pop up and cause enviormental hazards- Lava flow in Seattle, Radioactive spill in Osaka, terrible earthquake in San Fransico and much more. There are 4 different forces to choose your monster from (more monsters can be unlocked via making certain choices in story mode). These forces are: Mutants, Earth Defenders, Aliens, and the GDF (Global Defense Force). Each sides have their own unique and awesome monsters providing alot of variety to how you play story mode and unlock monsters. As your monster, you make alliances with your own force or other forces, OR no forces at all- you go all for one. Monsters can be unlocked (well, put in the store) by doing certain and fun things in story mode, tips on how to do this can be found on the Atari Forum in fighter section, then going to the Godzilla section. Once put in the store, you use the point system to buy the monsters. You get points in story mode my how well you do a mission, or by how much things you can destroy. Anyway, in story mode, each force has many points called "Alliance Points". These show how much that force likes/dislikes you. You get more or less points by how you act- like if you foil the Alien plans to destory San Fransico or Seattle, you'll lose a large amount of points, but by destroying human military, or defeating a GDF monster, you get points toward them. More info on this can be found in the same section of the Atari forum I mentioned earlier, or at Toho Kingdom.com. The last mission in the game is EXTREMELY epic, but I won't spoil it. Every once in a while, the camera can get rather lousy though... The multiplayer has MANY MANY MANY different options to choose from, I'd say them, but this review would be way too long. There are 9 fun and unique multiplayer maps, and nearly 30 monsters. I will tell you that some of the customizable options have thigns like how aggresive the military is, what alien/military vehicles attack, what you get points for, and much more. The crystals in the game also give you many different and fun powers which adds variety to the game.
Overall: 4/5
