Legend of Dragoon - PlayStation

Here there be Dragoons

Ah, Legend of Dragoon. One of my favorite games, and the game I've gone back to time and again for years.

As such you probably expect nothing but good words from me for it. This will not be the case because I am far harsher on my favorite things than I am on anything else.

On to the review then. Legend of Dragoon is a fantastic game. it introduced some fantastic new ideas, namely additions and having the characters themselves have a secondary more powerful form(in this case dragoons, or dragon warriors)

The additions are fun, but can be difficult to learn. especially if you don't do well with patterns. The story is cheesy and in many cases predictable. but still well done, and a handful of scenes will still get to me even after all the years I've been playing and replaying it.

For the time this was released the graphics are well done. But I question some of the designs.(This, however, is probably a combination of an overactive imagination and a dirty mind, so I won't go there.

Another of my annoyances is how few items you can carry at once. 32 items. While it can seem like a lot there's many a times I've found myself losing a boss fight when I was so close to defeating my foe, because I needed just one more healing item.

I also find it somewhat annoying that the lightning element has no opposite. Nothing it's stronger against, and weaker when thrown it's way. But I digress.

As many little gripes I have and as much as I mock this game it really is a fun and addicting game. I definitelly recomend picking it up it you ever find it.
