Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - PSP

REVIEWED!

Monster hunter has made several improvements on the older games in both graphics, quests, weapons and armour. But the crappy camera is still there. There is also no lock on feature, so with faster monsters you attack it but it moves and you hit air. And it can take a while to hit the monster. The difficulty is also whacky. Level three missions invlove killing a rather difficult enemy.

The AI could have been made so that the exact same attacks weren't used twice by the monster. For example the Gypceros's blinding attack will hit you, and immediatly after you recover it uses it agian and again and again. It can't be that hard to make the AI so it doesn't do that. A great new thing about the game is that the foliage system has been upgraded, running around a jungle feels like a jungle, it has luch trees, instead of a few bad looking bushes and maybe a palm tree. There is still no online multiplayer, which would greatly enhance the multiplayer experience. Lots of character models to choose from and a variety of weapon types let you fight your Plenty of monsters keep the gameplay from getting repetitive. THe game was overall enjoyable, and its great for ad-hoc parties, wiht support for four players working together to hunt monsters. For a decent price, its worth it. If you like monster hunter but you don't find it worthwhile to buy just rent it. REVIEWED!

I bought this game the very first game it came out. At first to be honest it was a little dissapointing because it is still the snowy mountains but soon i was killing new fun monsters. If you download the install data it will load real fast.

While it's relatively unknown franchise to US gamers, the Monster Hunter series is a beast in Japan, regularly selling hundreds of thousands of copies. Freedom Unite is the latest chapter to be released here and it retains the complexity and depth that the series is known for. However, a couple of glaring flaws almost single-handedly doom Freedom Unite and keep it from becoming a true global phenomenon.
