PSP 3000 simply has a Minor Major approach.
Simply amazing....well if you already have one, you may not feel that way, but to those who trully invest in the quality of their PSP system, THIS is by far the better version. With each upgrade the Playstation Portable makes, it brings you closer and closer to what portable gaming should trully be. Now let's get to the Pro's and Con's.
Pro's- There's a huge difference in the visuals with the 3000 compared to the 1000 and 2000 series. Brighter, fuller, sleeker tones. Almost sexy, lol. The decrease in glare is visiable, but playing in DIRECT sun light is just stupid, lol. You'll have a hard time trying to do that. But there has been a slight decrease in glare. There's a slight difference in audio that to the untrained ear won't be recognizable. But eventually, you WILL notice the change in quality even without head phones. Load times differ between having games on UMD and having them saved to a memory stick. But there has been an increase in the timing. The lower button layouts "home" button now brandishes the PlayStation emblem and the other lower buttons (Including the Home Button) have a more oval shape. Sexy, see?
Con's- Damn it! It's screen is still a magnet for finger prints, which is the most physical downfall of every psp. And the piano black is a magnet for finger prints as well, but the silver version has a matte finish in which finger prints are simply non existant. But the choice is yours. As I said before the load times with UMD has always been a problem, but having a Memory Stick that you can download and store your games to (IMO) dramatically decreases the load times.
Recomendations:Although this isn't a MUST have upgrade, those who are NEW to the world of PSP will appreciate having one more than older PSP vets. If you're a die-hard PSP user, I recomend geting this as a simple upgrade when your current PSP has finnally gotten on your last nerves (I.e scratches to the screen and outside of the system, nicks and scratches (Piano Black version.).).
If you don't want to deal with finger prints, but want the system in a different color, try visiting colorwarepc.com. They specialize in a variety of colorizations to multiple gaming systems, computer systems, and even iPods and cellphones with a special coating. Check it out!

PSP Slim
I just bought my PSP Slim a few weeks ago, and really like it. The screen is very sharp, and the system body and button placement is comfortable to hold/ use. The sound is good, but is much better with headphones. The feature that allows game play on your TV using the component cables (sold separate) is a plus. Great multimedia handheld.

Sony PlayStation Portable Slim & Lite review
More worthy than the original PSP Pros: Better styling; refined PS2-like graphics; lighter, sleeker, and less bulky; brighter screen; more features; and slightly improved battery life. Cons: Fragile and overly delicate; still a little expensive; and can be better. Apparently, the PSP is a great system with lots of optional features, better style, PS2-like graphics, and a bigger wide LCD screen for a portable device(not big enough to enjoy watching a movie, looking at the screen for a long time can damage the eyes). But I think in games, value, and quality-wise, the DS is far more superior than the PSP. The Sony PSP is by far the best(maybe the last) competitor to Nintendo in the handheld gaming market. I think that a successor to the PSP, not to be rude, a little ridiculous, because I don't think graphics and advanced technology could get any better for a slick handheld system after 3~5??? years from now. Plus, adding a hard drive to the PSP will make it way pricier, bulkier, and have lower battery life than the predecessor which is already too low for a portable device. I don't see the PSP as a must-own thing. If you already own a MP3 player like the iPod, a PS2, PS3, DVD player, and a GBA, etc., you probably do not need a Sony PSP(no offence: playing music and videos capabilities are not standard for the PSP). A small memory stick duo on the PSP costs more money. I am sure that in the near future (obviously due to the company's success in portable game systems), another possible Nintendo handheld device would have a bigger, wider, brighter screen, more "innovative" features, faster and more advanced graphics similar to that of GC (which is hopefully possible). And In comparison of the games: PSP has almost the same(UMD-disc miniature-version) games of the PS1 or the PS2. To be truthful, I am neither a Sony or Nintendo fanboy. Both the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS are absolutely terrific-quality, unique, reliable, successful, and well-planned systems compared to the mediocre Xboxes or the rushed, American-made, early-launched 360s at least. If you want an innovative handheld gaming system with decent graphics and fun games, the DS is better for you. The PSP is perfect for Playstation lovers, maniacs, and fans. AGAIN, The multimedia system Sony PSP is mostly not worth it. Its fragile screen is too small to watch movies and it would hurt your precious eyes. Also the games are mostly poorer quality similar to those of the PlayStation 1 and 2 console. Yes, it plays movies and music. But, these bonus features of this system are limited and optional. Buying additional supportive things or accessories (memory card, games, UMDs, screen protector, etc.) for the still expensive PSP will cost much more money. Overall, this is an unnecessary portable gaming device in almost every degree.
