Summary
Game Description
Explore Arkham Asylum as Batman in an over-the-shoulder perspective and encounter iconic villains such as the Joker, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Penguin, Riddler, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and others in this action adventure game. Arkham Asylum is built on the Unreal 3 Engine, so expect the gritty atmosphere of Arkham Asylum to be as twisted as the environments of BioShock. Use gadgets from Batman's arsenal to investigate a routine prison transfer gone awry and stop the villains from running loose in Gotham City.

Batman Arkham Ayslum is a very good game with fun gameplay and some content that other games just don't have. In this game you will go up against the massive killer croc, the frighting Scarecrow and of course the up-to-no-good joker. You many gadgets in your arsenal including Explosive gel and batarangs and many other gadgets. The gameplay gets a little repetitive but it always throws in a surprise or twist to keep you playing. Overall the game is good with tight controls and super hero level of fun this game is definitely worth a buy and is well worth your time and money.

A real batman game
The gaming industry has seen some pretty bad and mediocre comic book games.but batman arkham asylum proves to have rise above that moniker.
Batman AA has some of the most fascinating gameplay I've seen in any game so far this year . There is interesting shealth mechanics that really empowers the player to approach enemy confrontations more strategic, and ultilize batman trusty gadgets like the batarang and grappling hook. Most of the time when batman is exposed he must engage it fist fights with his enemy, that involve stringing together combos. The player can also perform cool finishers that make the confrontations highly enjoyable. There is nothing really negative about this game its all out fun with an suspenseful story, side quests that involve solving puzzles and gameplay that has a freeform to it theres also tons of extra like challenge modes, ps3 owners will get to play the joker in challenge modes. Batman arkham asylum is a must have for non comic books and fans alike.

Like a big meal that's taken from you
Imagine Thanksgiving. Imagine having turkey, stuffing, apple sauce, apple pie, blueberry pie, and fine wines. Now imagine that each one of these things was only 2 bites worth of food.
This is the best metaphor for Batman: AA. It gives you awesome powers, like detective work, and awesome invisible predator mode. 240 items are scattered around a beautiful landscape of arkham island, with a rich history and story. But each of these things are crammed into a 12 hour game. I counted 6 predator modes. These are awesome parts, picking off each enemy one by one. The story is well written, but it lasts a short time, and even the riddler puzzles, with 240, seem to be for trophies than for anything else. Sometimes the camera can be a nuisance, but that's a little annoyance, only happening occasionally. B: AA has 3 turndowns that prevent it from a 5: length, fighting, and bosses. I have already explained that rocksteady has packed a 30 hour game into 12 hours by shortening the best parts. But the thing Rocksteady doesn't shorten: fighting. Boy is there a lot of it. The worst part of fighting is that there are 3 buttons: strike, counter, and the rarely used stun. These combine into a square masher until the icon shows up that someone is hitting you, or until knife people come and you have to stun them. They throw in the occasional stun person who you have to leap frog over and then punch them. They let you upgrade to a throw and a takedown, both unblockable, but can only be used when you have a x9 multiplier (5 if upgraded). The takedown is a one hit kill, and is cheap, but pressing triangle and circle in the heat of battle doesn't work well. Plus, the enemies just sit there until one as the brains to attack, and then you counter. Some are smarter like getting guns from cabinets, or throwing stuff, but they all amount to square mashing with the occasional triangle, circle or square. Finally, the boss fights are terrible. Besides Scarecrow, each is just a boring test of agility. You don't even fight Harley, she just sends goons. Croc jumps out at random periods, where you stick him with a batarang, or shakes the platforms so you have to run faster. Killing him is just making him run into a breakable wall and exploding it. Poison Ivy is just running until she opens her cage, then throw a batarang, and repeat. Bane is just throw a batarang when charge, evade, then beat up. Joker is the easiest one, which sucks. All you do is dodge his dodge-able attacks, then fight some goons and pull him down with the batclaw. What a great final boss fight! Scarecrow's is good though. He gives you a floating platform sections where you must avoid his gaze, and run throughout the section. These are very fun, but not really boss battles, but run ins with him. Overall, its a great game. Maybe even a weekend rental. If you count riddler trophies and challenge rooms, it could be a 2 hour game, but it just could have been longer.
Pros: Awesome sections, like scarecrow and invisible predator, great location and story
Cons: Boss battles suck, fighting sucks, too short for its own sake

One of the best Batman Games
I have played a few other Batman games and not one of them has live up to the name Batman. If Batman (Bruce Wayne) were real he would be less then happy with the past games that represented him and his alter ego.
Batman: Arkham Asylum is by far one of the best Batman games known to the gaming world. Clan graphics, a bit on the dark side as it should be and cool bat toys to play with. It could be a bit darker then what it is. There is nothing like have something scare the crap out of you when the lights are off.
The AI could be a bit more intelligent as the inmates repeat the same comments and actions. Hitting the square button all the time gets a bit on the annoying side but its not that bad once your engaged in fighting 4 to 6 inmates at a time.
If you're a Batman fan and you have always wanted a good Batman game to play, Batman: Arkham Asylum is the best you will find. Just like the new movies, Batman: Arkham Asylum is the beginning of something new and I hope they continue with this game format for future Batman games.
There are more positives than negatives to Batman: Arkham Asylum and if your still wondering if you will like this new Batman game just download the demo.
